With the hassle and resources they have put in so far, it seems impossible for Square Enix to abandon their own concoction engine – Luminous Engine. Although in the end some of their big projects such as Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts 3 ended up relying on the Unreal Engine, Square Enix still had high hopes for the Luminous Engine. One of them? By proving its performance and capabilities in the latest generation market through the latest game – FORSPOKEN. But unfortunately, the opportunity to taste it directly is getting away.
After showing off its action RPG gameplay which contains so many combinations of super fast magic elements, Square Enix had planned for an October 2022 release for FORSPOKEN. But unfortunately, the dream of a release that was only a matter of months had to run aground. Square Enix and Luminous Productions officially kicked the release into the year 2023.
The reason? They openly admitted that this new date was taken after discussions with several of their important partners and this step was entirely strategic. They admitted that all the elements in FORSPOKEN have actually been completed and this game is already in the final stage – refinement. The team thanks the fans who continue to support this game with extra patience.
