A prescription drug called careprost is applied to the eyelids once daily to encourage the development of longer, thicker eyelashes. Its main component, bimatoprost, is a synthetic version of the hormone prostaglandin, which naturally helps control hair growth. It can speed up the growth of eyelashes by up to 25% when applied to the base, giving longer, thicker lashes in just two to three months.
