Many online CEU websites like ATS Seminar are NORBEC-approved continuing education providers for engineers and land surveyors. The NC Board only automatically accepts some of the online courses for architects. You must pick courses as NC licenses that will result in the maintenance, development, or extension of skills and knowledge relevant to your practice area. The following courses or activities, in particular, are not allowed for CPC credit in North Carolina: • Executive Coaching • Estate or financial planning • Computer/software fundamentals (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) • Tours and sightseeing • Sales presentations or seminars • Visiting vendor/exhibitor displays • Self-education • Personal development • General business meetings • Regular workplace activities • Research • Workshops on company procedures and policies Furthermore, the Board has ultimate discretion over course approval, credit, course value, and mechanisms for licensees to obtain credit.
