Vilitra 60 mg contains Vardenafil, a PDE5 inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Its safety for people with kidney problems depends on the severity of kidney disease. Here’s a detailed breakdown: Vilitra 60 mg and Kidney Function Mild to Moderate Kidney Disease People with mild to moderate kidney impairment (usually creatinine clearance 30–80 mL/min) can often take Vardenafil safely, but a lower dose may be recommended initially. Kidney disease can slow the elimination of Vardenafil, increasing the risk of side effects like headache, dizziness, flushing, or low blood pressure. Severe Kidney Disease or Dialysis For patients with severe kidney impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL/min) or those on dialysis, caution is needed. Higher doses like 60 mg are usually not recommended, as the risk of side effects increases significantly. Your doctor may prescribe a much lower dose or suggest an alternative ED medication. Precautions for Kidney Patients Taking Vilitra Start Low: If your kidney function is reduced, the doctor usually starts with a lower dose (e.g., 5–10 mg) and monitors your response. Avoid Nitrates: Never take Vardenafil with nitrate medications (commonly used for chest pain), as this can dangerously lower blood pressure. Monitor Blood Pressure: Kidney patients may already have blood pressure issues, and Vardenafil can lower BP further. Hydration: Maintain proper hydration, as dehydration can worsen kidney function or side effects. Side Effects to Vilitra 60 Mg Out For Kidney patients may be more sensitive to these effects: Dizziness or fainting (from low blood pressure) Headache or flushing Indigestion Priapism (rare, erection lasting more than 4 hours – seek medical help immediately)  Vilitra 60 mg is generally not recommended for patients with moderate to severe kidney disease. A lower dose may be safer, and your doctor should evaluate your kidney function before prescribing it. For someone with kidney problems, medical supervision is essential. Never self-adjust the dose, especially at 60 mg, which is the highest available dose.
