Filitra 10 mg is a medication containing vardenafil, used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. Like other PDE5 inhibitors, vardenafil is metabolized in the liver, primarily by the CYP3A4 enzyme. Certain foods and drinks, especially grapefruit juice, can interfere with this process.
Grapefruit juice contains compounds called furanocoumarins, which inhibit CYP3A4. When taken with FILITRA 10 MG, this inhibition can increase the concentration of vardenafil in the bloodstream, leading to stronger effects but also a higher risk of side effects such as headache, dizziness, flushing, or low blood pressure. In some cases, excessive interaction could be dangerous, particularly for men with heart conditions or low blood pressure.
Because of this potential interaction, it is generally recommended to avoid consuming grapefruit juice when taking Filitra 10 mg. If a small amount is accidentally consumed, it may not cause serious problems, but repeated intake or large quantities should be avoided.
For safe and effective use, Filitra 10 mg should be taken with water, preferably on an empty stomach, and men should follow their healthcare provider’s advice regarding diet and medication interactions.
