Caverta 50 mg can sometimes cause vision-related side effects, although these are usually uncommon and temporary. It contains sildenafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, which works by increasing blood flow in the body, including small blood vessels in the eyes.
Some users may notice mild visual disturbances after taking CAVERTA 50 MG. These can include blurred vision, increased sensitivity to light, or a slight blue-green tint in vision. These effects happen because sildenafil can also affect an enzyme (PDE6) found in the retina, which plays a role in visual processing. In most cases, these symptoms are short-lived and resolve as the medicine wears off.
However, in rare cases, more serious vision problems have been reported, such as sudden vision loss in one or both eyes. This may be linked to a condition called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), especially in people who already have risk factors like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, or smoking history. Although this is very rare, it requires immediate medical attention.
If any sudden or severe vision changes occur after taking Caverta 50 mg, the medicine should be stopped and a doctor consulted immediately. It is also important not to combine this medication with nitrates or other unsafe drug combinations.
